Speeding

There is a new speed notice on the entrance to Daws House from Launceston that flashed the speed limit to any motorist that is exceeding the 30mph limit. What are your thoughts on this and if there is anything else that should be done to curb the speed of vehicles through the Parish.

We need another sign at the other end of the village.

A lot more needs to be done - the speed limit is not enforced. I don't know why as it would generate a huge income for the Traffic Police! I can only assume that no one has been killed on the road through Daw's House as residents are too scared to come out of their houses. I take my life into my hands everyday and walk on that road and Tregaller Lane - most drivers are obviously driving in excess of 30mph and certainly do not slow down even when they see people walking. Where do they have to get to so quickly that someone else's life is so worthless? Please get something done before someone is killed - it's just a matter of time.

I suppose the only option to slow traffic down totally through Daws House & South Petherwin would be sleeping policemen & the traffic slowing "bumps"!

You can have your say at the forthcoming Speedwatch Meeting to be held at the Methodist Chapel Hall on the 18th August at 07:00pm. We need a big attendance so that a broad view can be obtained from the community.

Has there been any developments on the issue of speed and reducing it through Daws House and South Petherwin? I live in Daws House and am yet to see any improvements!
